The Chinese company BYD Auto in 2018 began selling the second-generation Tang mid-size crossover. The model with the appearance of the authorship of the former chief designer of Alfa Romeo Wolfgang Egger has so far been offered only in petrol and hybrid versions. Now BYD has prepared a purely electric version. From the model with an internal combustion engine, an “electric train” can be distinguished from the outside by special nameplates and another radiator grille with a “grid” of rectangular elements.

The interior of the crossover is made in high-tech style. The large display of the multimedia system is mounted on a special mechanism that allows you to rotate the screen from vertical to horizontal position and vice versa. The role of the instrument cluster is performed by a digital display. The BYD Tang EV comes with a rich standard package that includes power driver and front passenger seats, heated exterior mirrors with folding and auto-adjustment when reversing, multi-color interior lighting, an electric panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free trunk opening system. The maximum configuration adds to this the memory of the positions for the seats and mirrors, the electric steering column (also with memory) and some other options.

Offered safety features for the BYD Tang EV include Active Braking and Blind Spot Monitoring. The car has an electronic stabilization program and its accompanying anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, emergency brake booster. Also included are tire pressure monitoring, hill start and hill start assist, a 360-degree panoramic camera, automatic headlight switching from high beam to low beam. Six airbags are responsible for the lives of the driver and passengers.

The new all-electric crossover Tang EV has every chance of becoming one of the most interesting electric vehicles under the BYD brand. This is a spacious and powerful electric car with a stylish design that is ideal for a sports crossover. However, there is one of the main disadvantages - the price of an electric car, which is much higher than for hybrid versions with an internal combustion engine and a plug-in electric module.
