Volkswagen held a presentation of the serial version of the compact electric crossover ID.4. “Four” is the second model of the “electric car” subbrand ID. The crossover is built on the same MEB electric modular platform, which formed the basis of the Troika. ID.4 will be the first truly global Volkswagen electric car, it will be simultaneously produced in Germany, China and the USA and sell in all the largest markets in the world.

The length, width and height of the crossover is 4584, 1852 and 1612 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 2766 mm. That is, it is 102 mm longer and 13 mm wider than the usual Tiguan consumers with a standard wheelbase. Thanks to the rear -wheel drive configuration, the car was equipped with steering control with a large angle of rotation of the wheels. The diameter of the turn is 10.2 m, which is comparable to golf class cars.

The design of the pendants is this: in front - MacPherson, from behind - a lot of lever. The crossover has carefully worked out aerodynamics: the coefficient of the front resistance CX - only 0.28, is at the level of sports cars. Good streamlines are especially important for electric vehicles, since it helps to increase the efficiency of energy use.
