The Aion V electric crossover is the third model of the Aion sub-brand and New Energy division of Guangzhou Group Automobile (GAC). In the hierarchy, it takes the place of the younger model relative to the LX crossover, introduced in 2019. The exterior of the Aion V continues the development of the design language of the Aion family, with a sense of movement at the core of all solutions. At the same time, the head optics of the novelty are made in their own style, with spectacular mirrored sections. The lower grille with a thin waterfall of lines and a similarly designed rear bumper also bring freshness to the look, which makes the look of the Aion V unique in its own way.

The interior of the GAC Aion V has been designed around the Whale Space concept, which aims to minimize the EV's mechanical space and improve capacity while making the most of the all-electric platform. Inside the car, there is more than enough space in front, and rear passengers will appreciate the completely flat floor. In front of the driver, you can see a dual screen system, the center console has a “floating” design, there is a large compartment for wireless charging of gadgets. The equipment of expensive trim levels includes: a panoramic sunroof, power seats with position memory. For personalization, you can get a different color antenna, trunk, spoiler, upholstery options.

As for the design of the chassis, the GAC Aion V electric car uses a front independent suspension with MacPherson struts. At the rear, in all versions, except for the most inexpensive version with a torsion beam, a multi-link suspension scheme is used. The crossover was equipped with disc brakes (front ventilated type), rims of size R19 or R20. The ride height is 160 mm. Length, width, height of the machine: 4586, 1920 and 1720 mm.

In the basic configuration of the GAC Aion V there is ABS and an electronic stabilization program ESP, help when starting uphill, automatic headlights. In expensive versions, the driver is provided with intelligent assistance by a preventive safety system that includes several radars from all sides and overview cameras, providing control in blind spots, cross-traffic warning when reversing from a parking lot, and active braking in certain scenarios.
